11/8/2023 0 Comments London lockdown endWe've set up a Facebook group for London residents to share information and advice which benefits the community and helps keep people safe regarding the current pandemic. However, a return to 'normal' is unfortunately very far in the future: travel quarantine, masks and social distancing could all stay for a long time due to the risk of new Covid variants undermining the vaccine. It's expected that the actual easing of lockdown will be more gradual, though rumours suggest that we could be able to have picnics in parks in March, and be returning to the pub around Easter. Tory MPs from the lockdown-sceptic Covid Recovery Group (CRG) have demanded that Mr Johnson ends all lockdown restrictions from April 30, once the nine most vulnerable groups have been vaccinated. ![]() Rumours have surfaced ahead of the official roadmap announcement on February 22. The nation is keen to know when, and in what order, lockdown restrictions might be eased. Mr Johnson 's press conference tomorrow is expected to mark this milestone, though The Telegraph reports that the PM is cautious about celebrating too early.Ī source told the paper: "The PM does not want any celebration, very much business as usual, I will not rest until the whole country is vaccinated." When will lockdown end? Since Saturday is usually the highest total of the week, the vaccines given yesterday should push the total to over the magic 15 million target. ![]() On Friday (February 12) 544,603 first doses of the Covid vaccine were administered in the UK, taking the first dose total to 14,556,827. Promisingly, the UK is on track to hit its 15 million vaccine target 24 hours ahead of schedule, and to mark the milestone Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to address the nation tomorrow (Monday, February 15). The Government is set to announce its roadmap for ending lockdown on February 22, but there have been plenty of rumours around when we could next see our loved ones, have a picnic in the park or enjoy a pint in a beer garden. It's been a long, cold winter in lockdown, and speculation is mounting about when lockdown might end and how restrictions might be eased.
